This Gitbook guide aims to answer any queries about how things work around here, as well as give you some pointers and more information on the differences between iSV and your regular survival world!
Grab a drink and a snack, buckle up, and lets get this show on the road!
Before we begin, please note that the community server is only available to $10+ tier Patreons. You can find more information on how to support Impulse & unlock access to iSV community server here
Getting connected to the iSV community minecraft server
There are a few steps to get you whitelisted (ie. granted access) to the server after you have joined up on Patreon:
Connecting Patreon to Discord
Firstly, you will need to navigate your Patreon account settings, and get your discord account linked. If you need help, you can follow this guide on the Patreon website to get you linked.
Once complete, you will automatically gain access to the iSV Community Discord, your roles will be updated so that you can see the Supporter-Only channels there.
Connect MinecraftAuth to your accounts
MinecraftAuth is a commonly used bridge to link up your Minecraft, Discord, and Patreon accounts. This allows the whitelist bot to check that you are eligible, and will result in your access to the server being granted.
MCAuth to Minecraft: Go to MinecraftAuth.me and click "Login with Microsoft" to connect your Minecraft account to MinecraftAuthentication MCAuth to Patreon: Click on the Patreon button to login and connect with Patreon. MCAuth to Discord: Click on the Discord button to login and connect with Discord.
Getting Whitelisted on the iSV Server
In Discord, make sure you have "Allow Direct Messages from Server Members" enabled. This is in User Settings -> Privacy and Safety.
Launch the version of Minecraft supported by the server (see FAQ for current version).
Choose Multiplayer and click Add Server.
In the Server Address field, enter the iSV server URL found in the FAQ and login.
When you login for the first time you will be given a 4-digit code to DM (Direct Message) to a Discord Bot. Note the bot name and code.
In Discord, locate the member list on the right side and look for Server-Bots near the top.
Click on the bot name that you need to DM, find “Message,” enter the 4-digit code, and send it to the bot.
You will get a response saying your Discord account has been linked.
The Discord bot only updates the whitelist once per day, so the whitelisting process can take up to 48 hours. If you are still not able to get in after this time, please ensure all the steps have been completed and accounts are all linked properly. Once you have verified, please ask for help in isv-ask-a-mod in Discord.
