The Ball Pit

"The Ball Pit" is an experimental free-building world introduced this season. It can be accessed through the portal at spawn.

The Ball Pit is a peaceful world for building alongside your friends and neighbours without the restrictions of base borders or size limitations. What this means is that you are free to build wherever you want but please always be courteous to those around you. This world is supposed to feel like a server that you share with your friends.

Since this is an experimental world, we ask for your cooperation and patience while we navigate these new rules. Please be understanding when rules inevitably change as we learn what works and what doesn't.

There are no fixed boundaries to where you can build, but do not intrude into other players' builds.

Be courteous and respectful to your neighbours' builds and give them space.

Avoid conflicts and contact your neighbours if you are afraid of intruding. Communication is key!

Do not build excessively large just because you CAN build large. Unnecessarily large builds will be removed.

No clearcutting forests or modifying terrain without intentions to build anything there. Terraforming and beautification are okay.

Collaboration is encouraged - use the discord to organize towns, farms, roads, and everything in between!

No mining. Caving is fine, but resource gathering should be done at your base or designated resource worlds.

Do not treat this world as your primary base.

In order to make this freestyle building world a possibility, some restrictions had to put in place:

No complex redstone. Simple redstone doors, trash cans, or simple doorbells are examples of simple redstone. However, if these are built in excess, or are having an adverse effect on server performance, redstone may have to be further restricted.

No automatic storage systems. Manual storage only

No armour stands, item frames, or paintings. These items can quickly build up and negatively impact the server.

Absolutely no villagers.

Limit the number of personal pets or other friendly mobs. If mob counts become excessive you will be asked to move them to your main base and we may need to place restrictions on mob numbers.

No mob spawner farms.

No redstone or mob farms. This includes chicken cookers, cow crushers, etc.

By building in The Ball Pit, you must understand that other players are not required to build any certain distance from you. Their build could be any theme, style, or colour and that is okay! If you require a certain amount of space for your build, mark out clear borders so others do not build there accidentally. Please place signs on your builds so others can contact you about it if needed.

Although there are no base borders, you may not snoop through other people's builds, chests, or other personal belongings. Community materials must be explicitly marked as such. Stealing, griefing, or other anti-community behaviour will result in a ban.

Mods will not respond to complaints about other people's builds. This means all players are free to build in their own style wherever they want. However, do your best to avoid these potential conflicts before they happen! Communication is important!

Mods will respond to complaints about builds that may not follow community guidelines. Builds must be family friendly. No offensive or potentially controversial symbols, banners, or structures are permitted. You will be asked to remove problematic builds. Failure to remove your builds will result in removal by a moderator with no compensation of materials.

You must agree to the rules in order to build in The Ball Pit. When you first enter the Ball Pit, you must sign a copy of the rules book and acknowledge the rules before building. If you do not sign the book and are found to be building in the Ball Pit, you will be contacted by a moderator and your build(s) may be removed if they do not follow the above rules.
